Who are You?

March 23

Read John 9:24-38

Pray: Almighty God allow me to testify to who you are in me. Help me to see the marvelous extent to which you have changed me. Amen.

I love a sassy answer.

We have buckets of those in our passage today. “Who is this man that has changed your life, forever?” And the man that was healed essentially responds with, “I don’t know man, I just work here.”

This is a perfect example of missing the point in a massive way. I read this passage and I see myself reflected in the passage. In this polarized world, Something good or bad occurs and it feels sometimes my first response is asking the wrong question: “what team do they identify with?” “How do they view the world around them?” Our passage today helps us remember that we aren’t a collection of alliances or obediences, but rather we are to be a people marked by the change God has done in our lives. Jesus encountered this man, changed his life, and society didn’t get it.

May we today choose to see the Christ within us and around us and let go of our easy labels.

Respond:

Who gets a new identity today?

Meditation:

Christ is around me.
