God's Will

February 25

Read Acts 7:30-34

Pray: Almighty God, help me to see where you are speaking to me. Help me to know when I am holy ground.

Hear:

When I was a senior in college, I got so mad when I read passages like this. I was at a turning point in my life and really had no idea what “God’s Will,” was for me. I desperately wanted a burning bush to show up and tell me what to do. I was obsessed with knowing God’s exact will for my life and following that will to the letter.

But life doesn’t work that way for us. The thing is, the bush talks to Moses and completely messes with his life. Moses was chilling. Watch some sheep, got married, wandering around-- it was a pretty nice life. This bush starts talking to him and he is launched into an adventure (read Exodus for more).

But he doesn’t take the bush with him. The bush starts the adventure, but then Moses has to do the actual “adventuring.” So know that you are called to do that adventuring.

Respond:

What was your burning bush for your current adventure?

Meditation:

Off we go adventuring.
