Read Psalm 47

Pray: Almighty God, allow me to see the world in wonder and amazement as if I am seeing the work of an artist. Help me to see this world as your craftsmanship

Hear:

Martin Luther once said, “if you could understand one grain of wheat, you would die of wonder.”

I have felt that way being a parent. Seeing how a little human being picks up the mannerisms and phrases of the people around them (even when I don’t want her to!) is remarkable. Kids just keep getting bigger, asking questions and telling stories.

We don’t have to travel far to be overcome with wonder. It is a posture that allows us to see everything around us as miraculous. This posture of wonder allows us to bow in reverence to a God bigger than our comprehension which allows us to “right-size,” the shortcomings of our lives. It helps us to see, with gratitude, the work of the Lord in our day-to-day.

Respond:

What is a mundane miracle in your life? What does adoration look like in your life?

Meditation:

Find a mundane miracle.
