Read Psalm 38

Pray: Almighty God, allow me to see your strength in this world so that I could know that you can take my garbage. Help me to see you as one who wants to hear my hurt. Amen.

Hear:

Psalms are sassy! David is basically just being grumpy as heck to God Almighty. Dude is complaining about his wounds stinking and his loins hurting. My man is not holding back, at all.

Am I the only one that can sometimes think that Jesus doesn’t want to be bothered with my crap? Like, Australia is burning to the ground, and I am complaining about my diet not going well?

What is absolutely vital to a life of faith is that we slay this pretense. It is necessary that we let this false sense of self die away so that we can hope to see ourselves as God sees us-the very point of affection and care.

Respond:

What is a new thing you will share with God in prayer? What will you quit hiding?

Meditation:

God seeks to know me.
